Bike Trainer | Indoor Bike Trainer | Training Bike

Product Overview

Introducing the LeMond Revolution, a direct-drive indoor bike trainer that integrates directly with your bike’s drive train. By simply removing your rear wheel and slipping the trainer into your dropouts, it replaces the need for mushy, slippery tire-to-roller connections, while eliminating wheel and tire wear and tear.

Realistic Road Feel

The Revolution bike trainer features High-Inertia Technology (HIT), designed with a large, weighted fly wheel that mimics the inertia of a rolling bicycle. The Revolution spins freely when the pedals aren’t engaged, and delivers progressive wind resistance similar to real-world conditions.

Ease of Use and Cost Savings

The Revolution indoor bike trainer fits all road bikes and works seamlessly with your mountain bike or winter-specific cross bike. Simply remove the back wheel, attach the rear dropouts to the spindle and go. No more tire slippage and wear, front wheel blocks or unstable platforms. Plus save $50 to $100 a year by not having to replace worn out rear tires.

SAY GOOD-BYE TO OLD FASHIONED BIKE TRAINERS WITH FLUID OR MAGNETIC ROLLERS

The Lemond Revolution bike trainer is a Direct Drive, progressive resistance trainer that integrates with your bike's drive train. It features High-inertia technology (HIT) designed with a large, weighted flywheel that mimics the inertia of a rolling bicycle. The Revolution spins freely when the pedals aren't engaged, and delivers progressive wind resistance similar to real-world conditions. The design creates a smooth, natural feel while pedaling with no lag when the rider slows down or changes gears. For riders who are seeking to recreate the feeling of real cycling while indoors, the LeMond Revolution is the next generation of bike trainer.

SAY GOOD-BYE TO WORN OUT TIRES, BLOCKS AND UNSTABLE PLATFORMS

Simply remove your back wheel, attach the rear dropouts to the spindle and go. No more tire slippage and wear, front wheel blocks or unstable platforms. And save $50 to $100 a year by not having to replace worn out rear tires

CYCLISTS

I have and will continue to recommend the Revolution bike trainer. The main reason is the feel of the ride … which has not been duplicated by any other trainer.

I am in my third week of ownership and I like the feel of the Revolution over other trainers.  The Revolution has a higher quality “road feel” as compared with the fluid bike trainer I own.  It also feels more stable due to clamping to the frame rather than around the rear axle. It is easy to load and unload your bike from the Revolution and there is no issue with interchangeability between bikes.

The feel that one gets when pushing up a hill out of the saddle is not easily duplicated (has not been duplicated by any other indoor cycling equipment).  I also like the stability of the unit.  The wider, fixed base looks at though it would be hard to dump.  That coupled with the clamping to the frame and not the axle creates a sturdier base to ride from.

As a spin coach I am always troubled with the ability for folks to cheat the ride as the spinner wheel momentum can carry you through the weak area of your stroke.  The club version style resistance is just not real.  Fluid trainers feel a little more road like than the club trainer but you lose momentum under the tire too quickly.  The Revolution excels with the Revolution’s momentum system that keeps the road moving under your cycle; but will not carry your pedals around like a spinner.

INDUSTRY NEWS

The Revolution is getting positive reviews around the world.  Here are a few.

Lemond Fitness was showing off its Revolution Bike Trainer, which sell for $549. Rather than resting the rear wheel on a metal disc, like typical trainers do, this device ditches the rear wheel completely for smooth, consistent training and a quieter workout...

Velocity Nation:

The LeMond Revolution trainer simulates road feel better than any trainer, roller, or ergometer I've tried. It replicates the sensation of flying down the road with a slight tailwind so well that it lowers the misery index of riding indoors a notch or two. And less misery = more time training = more fitness. The thing spins so well one might even say it makes indoor training (gasp) fun.

Tech Check: LeMond Revolution Trainer

http://triathlete-europe.competitor.com/2010/11/08/tech-review-lemond-revolution-trainer/

LeMond's Revolution, the same trainer used by Garmin-Transitions at this year's Tour, is a marked step away from the status quo. It alters the way resistance is transferred to a drivetrain by completely removing the middle men — the rear wheel and tire — from the equation. The trainer will be available in October, with an add-on power meter computer coming in November. LeMond representatives noted that the Garmin team will be using the trainers again next year.

DC Rainmaker

Unlike traditional trainers, the LeMond fitness trainer replaces the entire rear wheel and cassette with its own. Why do this? Well, aside from cutting down on the wear and tear on your tires, it also cuts down on the little black tire/rubber dust that ends up coating anything nearby. Double bonus!

Feed the Habit

The new LeMond Revolution Bike Trainer, however, looks different and may provide that real road or MTB-like feel that other trainers lack. While it's not cheap at $499, this bike trainer looks to be different enough and better in so many ways that it could quickly pay for itself in reduced tire wear and improved workout performance. Plus, this one looks to be truly versatile enough for both road or mountain bike use. A quick cassette swap and you're golden.
